Aujourd’hui, je vous répertorie tous les endroits qui selon moi valent le coup de visiter en Sicile. Today I’m sharing with you all the places in Sicily which are for me worth it. To look for the precise article you can type the name of the city on the search bar of my blog or going in the category » travel » and « Sicily « .

CATANIA 
J’ai vécu pendant deux ans tout près de Catane donc naturellement c’est la première ville à laquelle je pense.
A Ne pas manquer :
- La place éléphant avec la jolie cathédrale que l’on peut visiter ( Faites attention la visite ferme dans l’après-midi ). Je vous recommande d’y aller en matinée. Vous pourrez même voir une momie dans la cathédrale !
- La vue de toute la ville au dessus d’un clocher. Même chose à visiter pendant la matinée. Prix d’entrée : Aux alentours de 2 ou 4 euros.
- Passer devant le théâtre
- Se balader dans le jardin Bellini et se demander comment ils font pour changer la date fleurit tous les jours
- Mon endroit préféré pas très touristique et caché dans la ville : Monastero dei Benedettini.
- Les marchés : Le marché principal ouvert tous les jours sauf le dimanche et le marché de poissons.
- Mon restaurant préféré : Indian curry restaurant, si bien sûre vous avez envie d’un restaurant indien. Il se situe juste à côté d’une des entrées du marché.
I lived 2 years just near Catania so naturally it’s the first city I’m thinking about.
Do Not miss :
- Elephant square with the pretty cathedral you can visit ( Be careful everything close during early in the afternoon ). I recommend to visit it during the morning. You can even see a mommy inside the cathedral !
- A beautiful city view in a bell tower ( Same thing be careful with the time ) Price : Around 2 or 4 euros
- Have a look at the beautiful theatre.
- Walk around the Bellini garden and wonder how they do to change the date made in grass everyday !
- My favorite place which is not too touristic and a little bit hidden in the city : Monastero Dei Benedettini.
- The markets : The main one opened everyday except Sundays and the fish market
- My favorite restaurant if you’re tired with Italian food : Indian curry restaurant, located just near one of the entrance of the market.
ETNA
Peu importe la période auquel vous partez en Sicile, l’expérience de monter sur le volcan est inoubliable. En hiver, vous pouvez même skier, tout dépend bien sûr du niveau de neige. L’ascension de l’Etna est un coût mais je vous le recommande. Si vous pouvez, je vous recommande l’ascension en télé cabines et le trajet en Jeep jusqu’au point le plus haut auquel vous pouvez accéder sans un guide de randonné. Et si vous avez de la chance et vous vous retrouverez en Sicile quand le volcan est en éruption, je vous recommande de vous renseigner pour pouvoir faire une randonnée pendant le coucher de soleil pour avoir à votre arrivée au sommet une vue exceptionnelle sur l’Etna en lave. Les randonnées avec guide sont chers mais parfois vous n’avez pas le choix. Pour les petits budgets si vous ne voulez pas payer l’ascension de l’Etna, je vous recommande de faire le tour de l’Etna avec vous votre voiture de location pour y découvrir tous les jolies villages aux alentours. Et comme nous vous aurez peut-être la chance de voir des amandiers en fleurs ! Oh et peu importe la saison même en été quand il fait 30 degrés en bas du volcan il faut un sweat pour se réchauffer en altitude.
No matter what’s the season you’re going to Sicily. To go up the biggest volcano of Europe is for me one of the most worth it visit of Sicily. In winter you can even ski on the volcano. If of course there is enough snow. To go up the Etna it’s a cost but I recommend it if you don’t mind paying the ticket. There is one price for the gondola lift and an other price to take the jeep in the highest top of the Etna where you can go up without paying a specialized guide to hike even more. To me the jeep was really worth it. If you’re lucky and when you’re in Sicily the Etna is in eruption. I recommend you to look for a hike where you’ll be able to see the Etna with its lava. Most of the times you would of have to pay the guide like you can only see the lava during the night. If you don’t have the money you can just drive all around the Etna to have all the pretty views and visit all the cute villages around. And maybe you’ll have the chance to see almond trees in blossom. Oh and I almost forgot to tell you to not forget warm clothes even in summer when it’s really hot under the volcano because in the altitudes it’s never as hot !
Acitrezza and Acireale 
Acitrezza pour son joli port de pêcheurs et ses bons restaurants de poissons. Lieu bien animé en été. C’est aussi la qu’à lieu la légende d’Ulysse et le cyclope. Aci castello juste à côté vaut également le détour si vous voulez vous balader et voir un curieux chateau construit sur un rocher. Et Acireale pour de jolies églises et un joli parc avec une jolie vue sur la mer. Selon la saison, il y’a plusieurs évènements dans cette ville (Carnaval, granite festival, festival des fleurs.. )
Acitrezza for its cute port. Here you can find really good fish restaurants. This place can get pretty crowded in summer. It’s here where the legend of Ulysse and the cyclope takes place. Aci castello just near can be worth it to see a castle built on a rock. And Acireale for pretty churches and a nice park with an amazing sea view. This city has a lot of events depending of the moment of the year : Carnival, flower festival, granite festival..
Castelmola 
Moins populaire que Taormina. Je vous recommande la visite pour avoir un magnifique point de vue sur Taormina et l’océan.
Less popular than Taormina I think this town is really worth the visit to have such an amazing view of Taormina and the ocean.
Taormina
Taormina, l’un des endroits les plus touristiques de la Sicile ! Faites attention en été, il y’a beaucoup de monde donc il peut y’avoir des embouteillages à l’entrée et à la sortie de la ville. Je vous recommande le parking payant à l’entrée de la ville où vous pouvez prendre une navette gratuite qui vous emmène en quelques minutes au centre.
Ne Pas manquer :
- L’ amphithéâtre et son panorama incroyable. Entrée : 10 euros.
- Le jardin public et ses beaux bâtiments abandonnés.
- Les plages et Isola Bella avec un joli parc agréable pour s’y promener. Attention en été, il parait qu’il n’y’à pas de place pour y poser sa serviette de bain. Je vous recommande les télécabines pour accéder plus facilement à la plage et éviter de galèrer à trouver une place de parking.
Taormina is one of the most touristic places of Sicily ! Be careful during summer it can get really crowded and you may have a lot of traffic to get in and out. Be sure to park just before the city. it’s not free but you have a bus which takes you to the center in few minutes.
Do Not miss :
- the amphitheater and its amazing panorama. Entrance : 10 euros
- The public garden and its abandoned buildings.
- Beaches and isola Bella which has a pretty park. Be careful in summer I heard there is no room to put your beach towel on the beach. It’s easier to take the gondola lift to not struggle to find a parking spot.
Alcanta gorge
Entrée payante mais endroit très agréable pour se balader. Je pense que la vue des gorges est superbe en été.
Entrance fee but this place is great to walk around and I think the view of the gorge is amazing in summer.
Syracusa
A Ne pas manquer :
- Ortegia, la presqu’île avec de jolies rues et de jolies vues sur la mer.
- Place principale et la cathédrale. Entrée payante : 2 euros.
- les balades en bâteau autour d’Ortegia et de Syracusa avec des visites de grottes. Grand regret de n’avoir pas trouver le temps de faire un tour en bâteau.
- Le petit aquarium d’Ortegia. Entrée autour de 4 euros.
- Maniace castello si ouvert. Hors saison touristique le château est malheureusement fermé. Entrée payante mais vraiment pas chère.
- Le parc archéologique de Syracuse avec l’incroyable oreille de Dyonisos. Entrée : 10 euros
- Les catacombes de Syracuse. Entrée payante et guidée.
Do Not miss :
- Ortegia, the peninsula just near Syracusa with pretty streets and pretty sea views.
- Main place with its cathedral. Entrance : 2 euros.
- A boat tour around Ortegia and Syracusa caves. I’m really sad we didn’t have the time to have a boat ride when we’re there.
- The little aquarium of Ortegia. Entrance : 4 euros.
- Maniace castello if it’s open. Outside the touristic season it’s unfortunately closed. Fee entrance but really cheap.
- The archelogic park of Syracusa with it’s amazing Dyonisos ear. Entrance : 10 euros.
- Syracusa catacombes. Fee entrance with a guide.
Noto
Mon plus gros coup de coeur de la Sicile. Noto et son architecture baroque.
Ne Pas manquer :
- La cathédrale
- La vue en haut du clocher. Entrée payante.
- Le théâtre Tina Lorenzo + salle des glaces. Entrée : 3 euros.

Avola
Cassabile di grande
Entrée gratuite mais attention car l’endroit est tout de même touristique même s’il y’a une pancarte à l’entrée expliquant que ce n’est pas recommandé. Tout le monde passe au dessus du portail. Compter au minimum deux heures pour descendre et remonter.
Free entrance but you may be careful because even if this place is really touristic they have a sign saying it’s not recommended. Everybody just pass above the gate. You need to count at least 2 hours to get down and get up.
Vendicari Natural reserve
Un autre de mes endroits préférés pour apercevoir des flamants rose selon la saison. Vous pouvez facilement y passer la journée si vous êtes courageux pour randonner ou sinon vous pouvez juste profiter de la plage. En fin de journée en pleine saison c’est l’idéal car c’est le moment ou les gens rentrent.
An other favorite place if like me you love to see animals like photogenic pink flamingos of course If it’s the right time of the year to see them. You can easily spend the day in this place if you’re brave to hike a little or you can just enjoy the beach. During the summer when it’s really touristic the ideal moment for the beach at the entrance it’s at the end of the day when people go home.
Marzamemi
Marzamemi avec ses jolies rues et surtout notre restaurant préféré : ristorante Cortile Arabo. A chaque fois on a félicité le chef tellement c’était bon. De la bonne cuisine gastronomique. On prenait un menu pour deux. Grand regret de n’y être pas retourné une troisiéme fois. Les menus changent également selon la saison.
Marzamemi and its pretty streets and our favorite restaurant : ristorante Cortile Arabo. Each time we congrates the chef as it was so good ! It’s really good gastronomic cuisine. To pay less we ordered each time one menu for 2. The only regret I have is I didn’t come back a third time there. The menu also change following the season.
Enna
Surnommé le balcon de la Sicile, vous aurez droit à une vue panoramique incroyable.
Its nickname is the balcony of Sicily. You’ll have an amazing panoramic view !
Agrigento
A Ne pas manquer :
- la vallée des temples. . Entrée : 10 euros.
- Les escaliers turcs.
Do Not miss :
- the valley of the temples. Entrance : 10 euros
- The Turkish steps.
Selinunte
A choisir j’ai préféré Selinunte à la vallée des temples d’Agrigento car dans ce parc il est possible de rentrer à l’intérieur des temples.
To pick I preferred Selinunte and not the valley temples of Agrigento because in Selinunte it’s possible to walk inside the temples.
San Vito lo Capo
Pour de très jolies plages.
For pretty beaches.
Zingaro Natural reserve
Modica
Ragusa
Cefalù
Autre lieu très touristique de la Sicile.

- la randonnée sur le grand rocher. Entrée payante autour de 4 euros.

Egadi islands
Nous avons tellement aimé ces îles !
De haut en bas :
- Levanzo : La plus petite, pas grand chose, quelques heures suffisent mais le cadre est idyllique. Si possible, il parait qu’il faut voir les grottes préhistoriques.
- Favignana : La plus grande : Louer des vélos électriques ou non pour se balader sur l’île
- Marretimo : De jolies rues et l’ile parfaite pour randonner.
We loved theses islands so much.
Up to bottom :
- Levanzo : The smallest one. Not much to do. only few hours are enough but this island is soooo beautiful ! If possible you should ask a tour to see the prehistoric caves.
- Favignana : The biggest one. It’s better to rent bikes to discover the all island.
- Marretimo : Pretty streets and the perfect island to hike.
Caltagirone

Ne pas manquer la visite de cette ancienne villa romaine avec d’incroyables mosaïques. Entrée payante
Do not miss the visit of this amazing ancient roman villa with amazing mosaics works. Fee entrance.
Erice
Meilleure saison pour partir en Sicile ? A mes yeux ce serait février pour voir les carnavals et ne avoir presque aucun touriste sur vos photos mais si vous voulez avoir du soleil et vous baignez, Avril et Mai sont de bonnes périodes. L’été à mes yeux il fait trop chaud pour bien profiter des visites mais dans l’ouest de la Sicile le temps est je pense plus clément qu’aux alentours de Catane. Le volcan tient chaud !
La semaine prochaine je vous partagerais tous les festivals mois par mois que j’ai pu participer en Sicile.
The best season to leave for Sicily ? I’ll say February if you don’t want to miss the carnivals and April or May if you want to enjoy the beaches. It’s too hot in summer but maybe in the west it’s ok as where I was in Catania, it’s really hot with the vulcanologie just above !
