2021 throwback

Comme pour chaque nouveau début d’année, je partage avec vous un petit récapitulatif de mon année passée. 2021 marquera notre dernière année sur Bahreïn. Nous n’avons pas beaucoup bougé cette année. J’ai pu en profité pour réaliser de nouveaux projets couture et continuer à organiser des cours de couture. Mais j’ai tout de même pu enfin rentrer en France visiter ma famille. C’était un super mois ! Mais mon meilleur souvenir de cette année reste la découverte de ma grossesse. 2022 annonce beaucoup de changements pour nous entre le déménagent sur Guam et l’arrivée du bébé. Enfin bref’ c’est parti pour un récapitulatif de cette année 2021.

Just like any new year, I’m sharing with you all my favorite moments of this past year. 2021 will always be remembered as our last year in Bahrain. But we didn’t move that much of the peninsula this year. I took advantages to sew as much projets as I could and I kept teaching sewing. I was finally able to visit my family. We had a great full month in France. But my favorite moment of this year is when I discovered I’m pregnant. 2022 announces a lot of news for us between moving out to Guam and the arrival of the baby. Anyway let’s go for a 2021 throwback

En janvier, j’avais espéré être en France auprès de ma famille pour pouvoir fêter les fetes de fin d’année, mais au vue de la situation sanitaire, j’ai préféré rester tranquillement sur Bahreïn. C’était un mois tranquille ou j’ai partage plusieurs looks avec vous. J’en ai profité pour réaliser mon premier bob. Par la suite, j’en aurais créé deux autres réversibles en 2021.

In January I thought I would of be in France to celebrate the holidays with my family but because of the sanitary situation I preferred stay in Bahrain. So this one was a quiet month. I shared few looks with you and I made my first bucket hat ! In 2021, I made a total of 3 buckets with two other reversible ones.

En février, j’ai réalisé l’un de mes projets préférés de cette année 2021, une robe pour la saint Valentin. C’était la premiere fois que je cousais un corset. Après la grossesse, il faudra que j’en réalise d’autres. Comme à son habitude, hubby m’a offert quelques attentions pour cette journée. Ce mois-ci était aussi important pour lui car il a re-signé pour 4 ans dans la navy. C’est toujours une étape importante pour nous même si pour le moment mon mari compte continuer son service jusqu’à la retraite dans une dizaine – quinzaine d’années. Cette fois-ci j’ai moi-même reçu un certificat pour me remercier de soutenir mon mari dans sa carrière.

In February, I realized one of my favorite 2021 sewing projects : A dress for Valentine’s Day. This is the first time I made a corset. After the pregnancy I would love to make more. As usual hubby didn’t forget some attentions to celebrate this day. This month was also important for him because he resigned for 4 more years in the navy. It’s always an important step for us even if for now we are thinking about staying in until the retirement in around 10-15 years. This time I even received an award to thank me to support my husband in his career.

En Mars, les journées se réchauffaient sur Bahreïn. C’était un autre mois tranquille.

In March, the weather was starting to get hot in Bahrain. It was an other quiet month.

En Avril, je préparais doucement notre séjour en France. Je me suis fait pleins de choses : Deux vestes en tweed, une jupe en velours côtelé. Et je vous partageais sur ce blog cette petit blouse que j’avais réalisé. Avril est également le mois où j’ai enfin pu avoir accès au vaccin. J’ai longtemps attendu le vaccin pour pouvoir être plus détendue pour visiter famille.

In April, I was slowly getting ready for our trip in France. I made a lot of things : 2 jackets in tweed and a corduroy skirt. I also shared with you on the blog this little blouse I made months before this one. April was also the month where I finally got my first shot for the covid. I waited a long time to have it and be able to be more relaxed to visit my family.

En Mai, je terminais ma deuxième veste en tweed pour pouvoir l’emmener avec moi en France. J’étais enfin réunie avec ma famille. J’ai pu être en France a temps pour célébrer la fête des mères avec ma maman.

I May, I finished my second tweed jacket to be able to add it in my suitcase for France. I was finally reunited with my family just in time to celebrate Mother’s Day with my mom.

En Juin, je célébrais mon anniversaire avec ma famille en portant la robe que je me suis faite pour mon anniversaire. Notre isolement terminé, nous avons également pu profiter de nos vacances pour vadrouiller en Bretagne et Normandie.

In June, I celebrated my birthday with my family while wearing the dress I made for this day. Once our isolation was over, we could enjoy our vacations in France and go around. We visited Brittany and Normandy.

En juillet, nous étions de retour sur Bahreïn. Je retrouvais mes deux chats. Ce mois-ci nous avons célébré nos 4 ans de mariage, nos noces de cire. Pour l’occasion j’avais réalisé une nouvelle robe. Et ce mois-ci l’équipe de basketball que mon mari soutient a gagné le championnat de la NBA. Autant dire qu’il était aux anges !

In July, we were back in Bahrain. I was back with my 2 kitties. This month was also the celebration of our 4 year anniversary, The wax anniversary in the French tradition. For this special day, I made a new dress. During July, the Bucks finally won the NBA championship. This is the team my husband support so he was delighted.

En Août,ou comme tous les étés sur Bahreïn il faisait très chaud donc c’était un autre mois tranquille. Mais ce mois-ci je me suis fait faire un henné pour le pot de départ d’une amie. J’étais trop contente d’avoir ses jolies empreintes sur les bras pendant quelques jours.

In August and just like most of the months in Bahrain, it was really hot so it was an other quiet month. This month I had my first henna for a friend’s going away. I was so happy to get theses pretty prints on my arms for few days.

En Septembre, il faisait toujours aussi chaud sur Bahreïn et je partageais quelques looks avec vous.

In September it was still pretty hot in Bahrain and I shared with you some looks.

En Octobre, je me préparais pour Halloween et puis la vie. C’est ce mois-ci que j’ai découvert que j’étais enceinte. C’était un mois rempli de belles émotions. Je n’ai pas pu terminé le costume d’Halloween que j’avais prévu parce que c’est aussi ce mois-ci que j’ai commencé à avoir les effets néfastes du début de grossesse.

In October, I was getting ready for Halloween and then life happens. This is the month I discovered I was pregnant. It was a month full of pretty emotions. I couldn’t finish the Halloween costume I had in mind because this is also the month I started to feel the bad aspects of the pregnancy.

En novembre j’étais au ralenti. Je ne suis pas sortie du tout de la maison ce mois-ci, si ce n’est pour nos rendez-vous. Début novembre nous avons eu notre première échographie pour pouvoir dater le petit haricot. C’était tellement émouvant !

November was a really slow month for me. I didn’t get out the house at all. I only get out for the appointments. At the beginning of this month we got our first ultrasound to be able to date the little bean. It was so moving !

En décembre, on préparait Noël. A la mi-décembre, nous annoncions la grossesse. Ce mois-ci était également porteur d’une autre tres bonne nouvelle. Mon mari a enfin été promu. Ça fait 6 ans qu’il attendait cette belle nouvelle.

In December we were getting ready for Christmas. In the middle of this month we announced the pregnancy. This month always always hold an other good new : My husband finally got promoted. It has been 6 years he was working on it.

Je vous retrouverais très vite pour un prochain article où je partagerais avec vous mes favoris de 2021 ou qui c’est peut-être que je partagerais d’abord un nouveau look sur Guam car je pense que cet article sera le dernier que j’écris sur Bahreïn.

I’ll be soon back with a new article where I’ll share with you all my favorites of 2021 but perhaps maybe I’ll share first a first look in Guam because I think this article is the last one I’m writing in Bahrain.

    Franchement cette année 2021 se termine de façon magique pour vous 2! Félicitations encore pour cette très belle nouvelle de petit haricot!
    Profite bien de ces 9 mois! !ils sont tellement particuliers!
