Hello !
I’m finally back with a new DIY article. I made this skirt a while ago already. I actually made this skirt just before my trip in France. I wanted to wait to share with you all the making process of this skirt because the fabric is in corduroy and I think it’s more adapted for a mid-season wear. But I’m still wearing it under my 95 Fahrenheit degrees. I bought this fabric to made a jacket for my dad, and I was happy to have some leftovers to be able to use it to make for me a skirt. I have have some more leftovers so I’m hoping to use to make an other bucket hat. I imagine a reversible bucket hat with one side in blue corduroy and an other side in a pale blue faux fur fabric. But first I need to be living in a country where winter are actually cold haha. I was able to give to my dad his jacket when I come home in France last may and since then he can’t stop to wear it. Soon, I’ll share with you a video with all the sewing projects I made this year. Like always I let you watch the video just below to discover how I made this skirt. As a base I used a pattern from an other Burda magazine. I imagined a A-shape skirt but it doesn’t look really like a A on me. But I thinks it’s ok. It was my first time those fabric recovered buttons and I think it adds such a cute touch to this skirt. What do you think ?
Des bisous, xx
Margot

Thanks you so much ! It’s always the struggle to figure out if I have enough fabric for a next project or not.
That is such a great item!

Hello Margot, I hope you’re doing well and sorry for all the troubles accessing to the website! Seems that Chrome and Safari are changing a lot of things lately…. 🙁
But anyway I could access through Firefox 🙂
Now talking about the topic of the day I really like corduroy, I have a few pieces with this fabric and for me it is so comfortable and soft to touch, but as you said it could feel a little warm specially if you live in a weather like the one you have in Bahrain. But happy to know you are able to wear it despite the heat 🙂 I feel like you did a nice choice with the color, it goes well with other tones, from vibrant to pastels to earthy-fall tones.
The process of the DIY seems really interesting, sometimes we tend to think that clothes are really easy to make but you show us with these posts/videos that the process behind a garment are really complex and they require hard work!
