Ça faisait un moment que je ne vous avais pas partagé un article avec tous les projets couture que j’ai en tête. Septembre est toujours un mois qui m’inspire beaucoup en particulier avec la saison de l’automne et Halloween qui arrive. C’est la période de l’année où j’ai envie de ressortir tous mes vêtements orangés, cuivrés, marrons… Bref toutes les couleurs qui me font penser aux jolies couleurs des arbres en automne. Vous allez voir ci-dessous j’ai beaucoup voir trop d’idées en tête.Je ne les réaliserais surement pas toute comme après Halloween c’est Noël qui arrive à grands pas. Et comme Noël est ma période préférée de l’année, j’ai toujours envie de réaliser pleins de choses pendant cette période de l’année. De plus, j’ai bien peur que juste après Noël je dois dire au revoir à ma machine a coudre pendant au moins 2 mois le temps qu’on déménage et que le conteneur me parvienne.

It’s been a while since the last time I shared a « sewing inspirations » article on the blog with all the sewing projects I have in mind. September is always a month I found really inspiring especially with the fall and Halloween season. It’s the time of the year where I want to wear all the orange, brownish shades which remain me of the colors of the trees during fall. You’re gonna see just below a lot of projects I have in mind. Probably too much. I’m not sure to be able to make all of them during this fall but I’m still gonna try. Especially because after Halloween it’s Christmas aka my favorite time of the year. So during Christmas season I always want to make a lot and I’ll have to because I’m afraid to pack my sewing machine just few weeks after Christmas. And during our transfer to our next destination I’m not probably gonna have my sewing machine for at least 2 months.

A maxi skirt in yellow-orange lace

Tout d’abord , j’aimerais réaliser une longue jupe avec le tissu jaune en dentelle que j’ai acheté sur Etsy. À l’origine, je voulais l’utiliser pour me créer une robe ou un combinaison pour nos 4 ans de mariage mais le tissu n’était pas arrivé à temps. Je pense toujours me créer la combinaison que j’avais en tête mais comme j’ai beaucoup de métrages j’adorerais avoir également une jupe longue dans ce tissu qui me rappelle la jupe en fleurs jaune de Michael Kors pendant la collection Printemps-été 2015.

First I would love to make a long skirt in the yellow-orange lace fabric I purchased on Etsy. At first, I wanted to create a dress or a playsuit with this fabric for our 4 years anniversary but the fabric didn’t arrive in time. I’m still thinking about making the playsuit I had in mind but since I have a lot of yards I think this fabric will make a nice long skirt. It’ll probably look a lot like the Michael Kors one from his Spring-Summer 15 collection.

A check mini skirt suit

Ensuite, j’aimerais me faire un ensemble veste tailleur + mini jupe dans un tissu à carreaux. Comme celui que j’aurais adoré m’acheter l’année dernière chez H&M

Then I would love to make a check suit with a tailoring jacket and a mini skirt. Last year H&M totally inspired me with a mini skirt and tailoring jacket set they’re selling.

Corduroy pants or corduroy overalls.

Avec ce tissu en velours côtelé marron, j’aimerais me créer une salopette toute décontractée ou peut-être un pantalon. Tout dépend je pense de combien de matières j’ai de disponible pour ce tissu.

With this brown corduroy fabric. I would love to make a really relaxed pair of overalls or pants. I guess it’ll depend of how many yards I have for this fabric.

A 60’s-70’s inspired dress.

Quand j’ai vu ce tissu l’année dernière, j’ai tout de suite su qu’il me le fallait. Il me fait tellement penser aux années 70. Avec ce tissu j’aimerais me réaliser une robe courte typique dans ces années la. Je pense même avoir le patron vintage adéquate pour cette robe. A voir si j’ajoute également un col Claudine à cette robe courte.

When I saw this fabric last year in a shop I knew I needed it. For me this fabric is so 70’s inspired. So with this fabric I would love to make a mini dress typical of the late 60’s-70’s. I even think I have the perfect vintage pattern for a similar model for this dress. Maybe I’ll also add a Peter Pan collar to this dress. What do you think ?

Cette année, je voulais absolument trouvé un tissu avec un imprimé d’automne ou Halloween. J’en ai recherché plusieurs sur Etsy pour finalement me décider sur ce tissu bleu marine avec de petits champignons. Je pense que ça pourra faire un chouette pantalon même si je me doute que ça ne plaira pas à tout le monde.

This year I absolutely wanted to find a fabric with autumn or Halloween print on it. I looked for it for a while on Etsy until I decided to get this navy blue one with small mushrooms on it. I think It’ll make a cool pair of pants but I won’t be surprise if not everybody will like it.

Two big projects

Ensuite, il y’a deux gros projets que j’aimerais réaliser. Tout d’abord mon costume d’Halloween. L’année dernière, j’étais tellement contente de me faire un costume, que je compte bien m’en refaire un cette année. Ci-dessus vous pouvez voir ma planche d’inspirations et mon croquis. Qu’en pensez-vous ? Mais ce n’est pas tout, j’aimerais également réaliser un autre gros projet. Je souhaite reproduire une robe que j’ai vu dans les défilés, celle de Viktor and Rolf pour la collection couture automne 2021 . Bien sûr ce ne sera pas exactement pareil mais j’espère que le résultat sera réussi. J’ai acheté tout ce qu’il faut, enfin mes cristaux sont plus petits que ceux de Viktoe and Rolf. J’espère que je trouverais le temps de la réaliser, peut-être plutôt après Halloween.

Then I have 2 big projects I wish to make. First I want to make an Halloween costume. Last year I was so happy to make one so of course I want to make one again this year. Just below you could find my moldboard and my sketch. What do you think ? But that’s not all I’ll also love to make an other big project. Hopefully I’ll get the time to create it. I want to try to make a similar dress as the one I saw on the last couture fashion show. This one from Viktor and Rolf from the 2021 fall couture show. Of course it won’t be exactly the same but hopefully it’ll look nice. I already purchased everything I need. My crystals are just of course a lot similar than the Viktor and Rolf ones.

A tote bag and a fanny pack.

Et pour terminer, j’ai de plus petits projets en tête. J’aimerais me réaliser un tote bag en coton ou satin rouge. Peut-être que je n’ajouterais pas autant de volants que sur le croquis que j’ai rapidement dessiné ci-dessus. Et j’ai eu un énorme coup de coeur sur les bananes de la marque Stoneyclover. J’ai adoré leur utilisation de tissus imprimé de princesses Disney. Je trouve ça trop mignon. Du coup j’adorerais tenter de reporoduire quelque chose de similaire. J’ai trouvé ce tissu Cendrillon sur Etsy et je l’adore !

And to conclude I also have some smaller projects in mind. I would love to make a tote bag in red coton or satin. Maybe I won’t add as many ruffles as I add on my sketch just below. And I had a big crush for the Stoneyclover fanny pack. I love the way they used super cute printed fabrics with Disney princesses on it. So I would love to try to make my own version. Lucky me I found this Cinderalla fabric on Etsy.

  5. Hello Margot, I hope you’re having a lovely week so far!

    I loved to know a little more of your inspirational boards for your current / upcoming sewing projects. Actually many of those moodboards are similar to the inspirational resources you could use as an illustrator or graphic designer! Seems that you have to use all the time you have before moving for your projects!

    I loved many of the things you listed here, specially all the references with flowers and also the things that remind me a bit of Marie Antoinette 🙂 I also liked the retro vibes, excited for you to make a 60s-70s inspired look! That would be great!

    1. Yes I think the thematic of moodboards are the same for any artistic works.
      This is so useful to vision a next idea.

      Oh I didn’t see the reference of Marie Antoinette in my costume but now I totally see it.

  21. You have so many fun projects planned it’s hard to pick a favourite! it will be so nice to see all the finished pieces – good luck with them! Hopefully you are able to complete them before you have to pack away your sewing machine for 2 months 🙂

    1. Yes I hope so too. But I’ll probably come out with others ideas around christmas 🙂
      Thanks you. I had a great one as well. Since it’s hot we were quiet inside but next week-end we’ll try to go at the beach. 🙂

  23. J’aimerais tellement être comme toi et pouvoir me lancer dans des projets coutures … malheureusement, malgré tout les cours que j’ai eu durant ma scolarité, je suis vraiment une bille en couture lol ….
    j’espère que tu vas réussir à réaliser tous tes projets du coup!

    1. Oh mince. Mais je suis sure que tu vas y’arriver. Il ne faut pas perdre espoir. Quand j’ai débuté je n’y connaissais vraiment rien. J’étais trop nulle. Toi aussi tu as été en école de mode pour avoir des cours de couture ?
      Oui j’espère trouver le temps pour réaliser tout ça 🙂
