Henna to accessorize an outfit.

J’espère que vous passez un bon week-end. Pour ma part, c’était un chouette week-end. Vendredi, une amie m’a invité à me faire faire du henné pour son pot de départ de Bahreïn. Je suis trop contente d’avoir eu l’occasion de m’en faire faire car sinon je ne pense pas que j’aurais eu l’idée toute seule. Mon amie avait trouvé le contact d’une artiste sur instagram. ( @rubyhennadesigns ) et à partir de quelques photos d’inspirations, elle nous a créé de jolies motifs en henné sur nos bras. Je suis très contente du résultat, je voulais des motifs fleuris qui ressemblent aux ombres des fleurs. Lorsque j’ai retiré l’épaisseur de l’hénné lorsqu’il était sec, mes tâches étaient orange fluo. Et le lendemain à mon réveil, elles sont devenues plus foncées. J’ai hâte de voir si mes tâches vont encore foncer ou si elles vont commencer à s’atténuer. Hier, j’ai eu beaucoup de mal à trouver ma tenue dont je voulais prendre en photos pour immortaliser mon henné. Je voulais une robe unie pour faire ressortir mon henné mais je me suis rendu compte que mon dressing comprenait beaucoup plus de robes imprimés que de robes unies. J’ai tout de même trouver mon bonheur en décidant de porter cette robe d’une ancienne collection Bershka. Je l’ai depuis plusieurs années et pourtant je ne vous l’avais pas encore montré sur le blog. J’ai choisi de l’accessoiriser avec une paire de sandales et un foulard dans mes cheveux pour rendre la tenue plus décontractée. Après tout le henné n’est-il pas l’accessoire parfait pour une tenue ? Vous saviez vous que ça signifiait « bonheur », comme quoi il n’ya pas besoin d’un évènement en particulier pour se faire faire du henné. : )

I hope you’re all having a good week end. For me it was a great one. Friday a friend invited me over to get henna for her going away of Bahrain. I was so happy to have the possibility to get some henna on because I don’t think I would of get this idea myself. My friend found the contact of an henna artist on instagram (@rubyhennadesigns ). From some pictures inspirations, she created some beautiful henna patterns on our arms. I’m really pleased by how it turned out. I wanted some flower pattern which remind me of the shadows of the flowers. When I took off the layer of the henna product when it dried, the stains were orange. Then when I woke up it started to get more brown. And now I can’t wait to see if it’s still gonna get darker or if it’s gonna start to fade. Yesterday I struggle to find out what to wear because I wanted a plain dress to highlight my henna. I realized I have more colorful and printed dresses than plain ones. I finally decided to wear this Bershka dress from an old collection. I got this dress since few years and yet I didn’t think you ever saw it on the blog. I accessorized it with a pair of sandals and a scarf in my hair to make this dress more casual. After all the henna is part of my accessories right ? Did you know henna means « happiness » ? Like what you don’t need a special event in your life to get some henna done. 🙂

    C’est vraiment très joli! Quel travail ça a dû demander! Et finalement, tu as même pu assortir sa couleur à celle de tes sandales lol Blogueuse mode à la perfection et dans les moindres détails!!

    I have never tried henna but there’s always a first time to try out new things and henna sounds good as a way to start experiencing with paint in the body or similar stuff. I didn’t know that the color tends to change overtime but it makes it such a different experience!

    The motifs are also really nice, but it is truth that once you get the henna you have to think about the colors of the clothes, similar to hair I think, when I had blue hair it was difficult to pair it up with some colors in the clothes haha, so i imagine choosing the right outfit for the henna tattoo is crucial in order to make it pop.

    1. Yes it was so cool to see the color changed. Now it’s starting to fade on my hands.

      Haha. Yes I totally understand. When I dye my hair in bold I had to think about other colors combo in my outfits. I’m sure your blue hair was amazing !

  6. These patterns are so beautiful. Actuall I don’t know henna before. Is it waterproof? It seems like very unique as well as makes you stunning, so fantistic.

    1. To explain it : Henna is a plant. When she put it on me it felt like mud. And When the henna dries it left stains like those. So yes it’s definitely waterproof.
