A pastel good witch.

J’espère que vous passez un bon week-end. Dites-moi si vous avez fait quelque chose pour Halloween même coincés à la maison. De notre côté on a passé la journée a faire notre puzzle escape game, mais on a toujours pas trouvé la solution. Vendredi nous avons également pris en photos mon costume d’Halloween. J’avais trop hâte de vous montrer les photos. J’ai travaillé sur mon costume pendant des semaines et je suis plutôt satisfaite du résultat. J’ai toujours eu envie de faire un costume mais je n’en voyais pas trop l’utilité. C’est quand j’ai vu une story de la blogueuse américaine Keiko Lynn qui montrait son chapeau de sorcière sur instagram, que l’idée d’un costume de sorcière pastel m’ait venu. Après autres recherches d’inspirations, le croquis puis un passage chez mon magasin de tissus habituel sur Bahrein, l’idée des trois pièces s’est mise en place. J’ai donc réalisé un chapeau de sorcière, une cape et une robe avec des manches ballons. Dans les prochains jours, je vous partagerais le processus créatif pour chaque pièce. Attendez-vous donc à en entendre encore un petit peu parler de ce costume. J’espère que ça vous plait de savoir comment j’ai créé chaque pièce.

I hope you’re all having a great week end. Let me know if you did anything special for Halloween. About us we spent the all day working on our puzzle escape game. We still haven’t find the final solution… We’re still stuck in the kitchen of the witch haha ! Friday we also took my costume in picture. I was so excited to share with you all the pictures. I worked during few weeks on this costume and I’m pretty satisfied how it turned out. I always wanted to make a costume but I never made one. I thought it was quite pointless but when I saw Keiko Lynn’s story on instagram sharing a cute pink pastel witch hat I knew I wanted to also create my own costume. I wanted to make a Patel good witch costume. After looking for inspirations, making a sketch and finding the fabrics at my favorite fabric shop in Bahrain, the idea of 3 pieces came to me. So then I created a witch hat, a cape and a dress with puff sleeves. In the next day I’ll share with you all the creative process. So I hope it’ll interest you and you’re not done to know more about this costume.

J’espère que les photos vous plairont même s’il y’en a beaucoup. En tout cas c’était vraiment super fun pour moi de créer ce costume pendant des semaines, même si c’était quelque peu un challenge comme j’avais une deadline. Il fallait que je le finisse avant le 31 Octobre. Je compte bien reporter chaque pièce. La robe je me vois très bien la reporter dans la vie de tous les jours. La cape je compte bien la reporter le jour où je pourrais rentrer en France et visiter un château ou une jolie forêt. À mes yeux c’est vraiment une cape de contes à fées. Pour le moment c’est d’ailleurs la pièce que j’ai créée et dont je suis la plus fière même si ce n’est pas 100% parfait. Et le chapeau je vais le reporter tous les ans pour Halloween.

I hope you’ll enjoy theses pictures even if there is a lot. It was so fun to working on this costume for weeks even if it was quite challenging since I had a deadline. I had to finish it before the 31st October. Of course I’ll wear again each piece. I can already see myself wearing this dress any day. About the cape, I want to wear it again especially when I’ll be able to go back in France and visit a castle or a pretty forest. To me this cape really looks like a fairy tale one. By the way for now it’s the piece I’m the most proud about even if it’s not perfect. And I’ll wear the hat every year during Halloween’s time.

Je vous avouerais qu’aujourd’hui je suis un peu triste de dire au revoir à la période d’Halloween. Car cette année c’est la première année où on prépare autant de choses pour cette journée. Et surtout j’ai passé beaucoup de journées sur mon costume et si j’avais hâte qu’il soit terminé. Maintenant qu’il est terminé j’ai comme un sentiment de « vide ». Mais ma période préférée arrive bientôt : celle de Noël. Même si je suis triste car mes plans pour Noël sont annulés. Vu la situation en France, je ne vais pas pouvoir rentrer voir ma famille. C’est pourquoi maintenant j’ai envie de me créer autre chose pour Noël. Peut-être que je devrais me créer un autre costume pour Noël, un costume d’elf ou de mère noël. Vous en pensez quoi ? Mais bon chaque année pendant la période de Noël j’ai envie de me créer pleins de choses et au final je ne prends pas le temps. Ça passe vite. Et je risque d’être bien occupé car j’ai des cadeaux à faire et comme je vais devoir les envoyer par colis. Il va falloir que je m’y mette de bonne heure. 🙂

Now I’m a little bit sad to say goodbye to Halloween. The year is the first year we decorated that much the house and we prepared a lot of fun for this time of the year. I spent so much time working on my costume now I feel quite « empty » and sad it’s over. But when I wa working on it I just couldn’t wait to finish it. But it’s ok because soon it’ll be my favorite time of the year : CHRISTMAS ! Even if it’s quite sad because all our plans for Christmas get cancelled. We’re supposed to celebrate Christmas with my family. Everything was planned ( Military life is an all process when you want to travel.). We knew our flights could be cancelled with civil but we didn’t plan for France to get in lockdown again. That’s why now I want to create something else for Christmas. Should I do an other costume ? Maybe an elf or Mrs Santa Claus ? What do you think ? But maybe I won’t even take the time because every year I want to create a lot of things for Christmas and time just flies so fast. I should be busy anyway since I’m planning to make few things for my family as Christmas presents. I really need to work early on those so they could receive their packages on time for Christmas . 🙂

  3. What a great costume! Your cape looks beautiful and you are so talented to have made it! 🙂 I’m glad you had fun for Halloween and fun making this costume.

    Sorry to hear about your cancelled Christmas plans though! 🙁 Time with family is so precious and I really hope things get safer so that everyone can be together for Christmas – I’m hoping we continue to have no cases here so there are no restrictions – we have had no cases in our state for over 40 days which is a good start!

    Mais quel boulot!! Tu as dû en passer des heures devant ton travail! En tous les cas, tu peux être fière de toi! C’est une réussite!
    Et tu sais que ça te va super bien le violet en couleur de cheveux?!!^^

      Oui j’ai passé beaucoup de temps dessus. C’est pourquoi je ne compte pas poster qu’un seul article sur ce costume haha.
      Haha merci, je trouvais ça trop chouette d’avoir des cheveux violets.
      Oui j’aimerais beaucoup me faire un costume de Noël si je trouve le temps.

    I am really impressed and the result is so good and creative! Besides it is a costume, I think the whole idea of the good witch in pastels tones kinda reflect part of your personality as a blogger/creative worker 🙂

    It is nice that you were able to create a costume with your own hands and with and idea that was on your mind for quite a time…. you should feel proud of the result 🙂 I totally understand that you were sad after the end of Halloween, but like you said some of the pieces could be worn during other seasons or even in a thematic party right? (of course in a free covid world haha).

    I really liked how you took the pictures too, with the lamp and all the details! The wig and the hat are on point too and I see that you dedicated a lot of time, specially in the small details like the decoration of the cape *__*
