Getting in the fall/Halloween mood in Bahrain

J’espère que vous passez un bon week-end. Après vous avoir proposé une wishlist d’Halloween, je vous retrouve comme promis aujourd’hui, pour vous montrer toutes mes idées pour profiter de l’automne même à Bahreïn. Même si ici on a pas de jolis arbres orangés et on évite toujours la foule, on peut quand même trouver de chouettes activités en fonction de cette nouvelle saison.

I hope you’re all having a great week end. After proposing you an halloween wishlist I’m back today to share with you all my ideas to enjoy fall even in a hot country like Bahrain. Even if here we don’t have pretty orange leaves and we’re trying to avoid the crows we can still do some activities related to fall and Halloween.

• Décorer la maison.

L’année dernière nous n’avions pas acheté beaucoup de décorations d’Halloween mais cette année on a eu envie de décorer toute notre pièce principale pour se mettre dans l’ambiance d’Halloween. Il faut savoir que depuis qu’on est à Bahreïn on a pas du tout investi dans la décoration de notre maison ou dans de nouveaux meubles. La majorité des meubles de la maison de nous appartiennent pas. Notre canapé, table de cuisine etc.. sont actuellement en stockage quelque part aux Etats-Unis. Comme on déménage souvent et loin, d’un pays à un autre, on ose pas investir dans des meubles autres que les meubles pas chers chez Ikea car tous les 2-3 ans ils finiront démontés puis remontés etc… Bref tout ça pour dire que cette décoration automnale et d’Halloween est bien appréciable dans notre maison. On s’est beaucoup amusés à décorer toute la maison.

Decorate the house

Last year we didn’t buy a lot of Halloween decorations but this year we really wanted to decorate the house to put ourselves in an Halloween atmosphere. Since we arrived in Bahrain we didn’t buy any new decorations or furnitures. Most of the furnitures we have in this house don’t belong to us. Our couch, kitchen table etc.. are in a storage in US. Like we’re moving a lot and often, far, from a country to an other one we don’t want to invest in furnitures others than the cheap ones at IKEA because no matter the quality there are gonna get disassemble and then we’ll have to assemble them again and etc.. Anyway all of this to just say it feels really nice to decorate the house for the holiday. It’s so fun and it makes the house really cheerful.

• Lire un roman magique ou des contes en lien avec Halloween.

Spécialement pour cette saison, je me suis achetée le roman « The Midnight library » de Matt Haig. Il vient tout juste de sortir aux Etats-Unis donc je ne pense pas qu’il va tout de suite être traduit en français. Mais en tout cas j’ai adoré ce roman. Le roman raconte l’histoire de Nora qui se retrouve dans une libraire entre la vie et la mort. Chaque livre peut la faire voyager vers une autre vie où elle aura fait un choix différent au cours de sa vie. La morale de ce livre est très belle, comme quoi chaque chose est possible dans une vie et qu’il ne faut peut-être pas s’attacher autant aux regrets qu’on peut avoir dans sa vie.

Mais ce n’est pas tout, pour la saison on s’est également acheté le livre « the ghostly tales », des contes de fantômes de l’age victorien. J’espère que ça ne fera pas trop peur. On attend Halloween pour les lire ensemble.

Read a magical book or tales in relation with Halloween.

Especially for this season I bought for myself the new novel « The midnight library » by Matt Haig. It tells the story of Nora who is between the life and the death in a library. In this library, every book can make her travel through an other life where she made different decisions. I found the morale of this book really nice. It makes us believe everything can be possible in a life and to not get attach too much of the regrets we can have.

For Halloween we also bought the ghostly tales. I hope it won’t be that scary. We’re waiting Halloween to read it together.

• Faire un costume pour Halloween.

Si vous me suivez sur Instagram, vous avez déjà pu voir l’avancée de mon costume. Nous n’avons rien de prévu pour Halloween mais j’avais quand même envie d’être créative et de me créer un costume. Quand j’ai vu la story sur instagram de la blogueuse américaine Keikolynn j’ai eu un énorme coup de coeur pour son chapeau de sorcière rose. Ensuite toutes les idées se sont enchaînées dans ma tête. J’ai d’abord créer ma planche d’ambiance que vous pouvez voir ci-dessus. ( Je vous ai essayé de vous retrouver la plupart des références de chaque photo d’inspiration. ). Ensuite j’ai dessiné mon costume de sorcière tout pastel. Les couleurs et les tissus sont différents car j’ai créé le dessin avant de savoir quel tissu j’allais trouver en magasin. J’ai déjà créé la cape. Je suis en train de travailler sur la chapeau et il me restera plus qu’à me faire la robe. J’espère réussir à terminer avant Halloween et surtout j’espère que le résultat sera réussi.

Make an Halloween costume

If you follow me on instagram you may have already saw some of the works I already made for this costume. We didn’t plan anything for Halloween but I still wanted to be creative and create for myself a costume. When I saw the story of KeykoLynn I had a big crush for her pink witch hat then all the ideas popped up in my head. First I created a mood board ( You can look for all the informations for each inspiration picture just below the mood boar ) then the sketch. I drew a pastel witch costume. The actual colors and the fabrics are different from my sketch because when I created my drawing I didn’t know what I was gonna find in the shop. I already made the cape. I’m currently working on the hat. Then I’ll just have to make the dress. I hope I’ll finish the all costume in time and I hope it’ll turn out good.

• Faire une manucure thématisée Halloween.

Vous avez déjà pu apercevoir ma manucure sur Instagram. C’est la première fois que je me suis fait faire un nail art et j’avais envie de me faire quelque chose en lien avec Halloween : une nuit d’étoilée violette avec des étoiles roses et bleu et des petits fantômes. Et j’ai fait exprès que les couleurs rappellent le costume sur lequel je suis en train de créer. 🙂

Make an Halloween manucure.

You probably also already saw my manicure on Instagram. It was my first time asking for a nail art in a salon. I really wanted to have something related to Halloween on my nail, just to be festive. So I asked for a purple night with pink and blue stars and some ghosts. I made sure the colors were similar to the colors of my future Halloween costume I’ll make.

• Regarder un film d’Halloween.

Je n’aime pas du tout les films d’horreurs. D’ailleurs l’année dernière je vous avais proposé une liste de films d’halloween qui ne font pas peur. Je vous la remets ici. Cette année nous avons déjà regardé les Noces funèbres. J’adore l’univers de Tim Burton. J’étais très contente de revoir ce dessin animé. Nous avons également regardé « the haunting of Bly Manor » sur Netflix. Comme je vous le disais je n’aime pas du tout les films d’horreur. Ça me fait trop peur mais j’aime beaucoup cette série. Comme la série « The haunting of hill house » je trouve ces histoires de fantôme très belles. Ça me fait sursauter mais à la fin ça ne m’empêche pas de dormir même si je ne regarderais pas cette série toute seule. Par contre pour cette nouvelle série on a trouvé qu’il y’avait beaucoup plus de longueurs en comparaison à « the haunting of hill house ».

Watch an Halloween movie.

I don’t like horror movies. I’m a scary cats. By the way you may remember the article about my list of not so scary Halloween movies I posted last year. You can find it again here. This year we already watched « The corpse bride ». I love Tim Burton’s universe. I was happy to watch this animation movie again. We also watched « the haunting of Bly manor » on Netflix. Like I told you I don’t like scary movies but I like this tv show. Just like « the haunting of hill house » I found theses ghost stories really beautiful. They make me jump but at the end It doesn’t bother me to sleep at night even if I won’t watch this tv show alone. The only thing is we found this new one a lot long than the older one.

• Et …Manger des bonbons !

Mes préférés ce sont les bonbons américains d’Halloween : Les candy corn. Malheureusement on en a pas trouvé mais hubby m’a acheté une grosse citrouille en plastique pleine de friandises américaines. 🙂

And …eat candies !

My favorites are the candy corn but unfortunately we didn’t find any this year. Instead hubby found for me this big pumpkin full of candies. 🙂

• Faire un jeu de société en lien avec Halloween

Spécialement pour cet Halloween, on s’est également acheté un puzzle escape game. J’ai choisi la cuisine de la sorcière mais il en existe d’autres avec différents niveaux. Ça a l’air vraiment géniale ! Je n’en reviens toujours pas qu’ils ont créé un puzzle escape game. A ce que j’ai cru comprendre il faut s’enfuir de la cuisine de la sorcière et pour cela il va falloir faire un puzzle ( à priori l’image de la boîte ne correspond pas totalement au puzzle) et il y’a également 8 autres énigmes dans la boîte. On se le garde pour Halloween donc je vous en parlerais plus dés qu’on l’aura utilisé. J’imagine qu’en étant dans le noir certaines pièces vont s’éclairer etc… Je ne sais pas du tout mais en tout cas j’ai vraiment hâte d’y jouer, ça m’intrigue beaucoup !

Hier c’était l’anniversaire de hubby et je lui ai offert entre autres un nouveau jeu de société : Mysterium. Ce jeu a gagné l’as d’or du meilleur jeu de l’année 2016. (le prix français des jeux de société). Nous avons fait une première partie ensemble hier. C’est top et parfait pour la saison. Le but du jeu ressemble à Cluedo car il faut retrouver le coupable, le lieu et l’arme du crime. Pour cela une personne est le fantôme tandis que le ou les autres sont des médiums. Le fantôme connait les réponses et pour les communiquer aux médiums il doit leur montrer des visions. Il forme les visions avec des cartes qui sont magnifiques mais pas toujours facile à analyser. Ce sont des cartes styles onirique. C’est un jeu coopératif d’interprétation d’images : Tout le monde gagne ou tout le monde perde. Il existe également d’autres extensions valable pour ce jeu.

Si vous recherchez un autre jeu pour Halloween, je vous conseille également un autre jeu d’escape game : Exit-the escape game. C’est vraiment top. On en a déjà fait trois et c’est chouette pour faire un escape game sans bouger de son canapé. La aussi il en existe plusieurs, de différents niveaux.

Et pour Halloween le jeu dont je vous parle souvent :Villainous est également parfait comme pour gagner ce jeu de cartes, il faut réaliser l’objectif d’un vilain Disney.

Play a board game

Especially for this Halloween we bought a puzzle escape game. I picked the the kitchen of the witch but it exists others with different levels. It seems amazing ! I can’t believe someone got the idea of creating a puzzle escape game. So I think to exit the witch’s kitchen we’ll have to make a puzzle ( It says on the box the image of the cover is different from the actual puzzle ) and answers other kinds of puzzle..We are keeping this game for Halloween so I’ll probably tell you more about it when we’ll do it. I’m imagining some pieces to glow in the dark or something like that. I just can’t wait to play it !

Yesterday was hubby’s birthday and one of his presents was a new board game : Mysterium. The game won the French prize of the best board gam in 2016. It’s perfect for the season. The goal of this game is a little bit similar to Clue as you have to find the culprit, the location and an object. In this game one person is a ghost and the other(s) is/are the medium. The ghost knows the answers and to communicate them to the mediums he needs to show hi or them some visions. He makes visions using beautiful illustrated cards. It’s a cooperative game and all about interpreting images. Everyone loses or everyone wins. It also exists others extensions for this game.

If you’re looking for an other Halloween kind of game. There is also an other escape game calls Exit-the escape game. We already did 3 of theses escape games and it’s really nice. Very immersive. It exists a lot of different levels for theses games.

And for Halloween there is also Villainous, the game I always talked to you about is also a perfect one for this holiday. In this card deck game you are a Disney vilain and need to succeed your goal to win the game.

• Jouer à Little nightmares sur Nintendo switch.

Je n’ai pas d’images de ce jeu mais si vous recherchez un jeu pour vous mettre dans l’ambiance d’Halloween je vous le recommande. Il est top même si parfois effrayant. Vous êtes un petit enfant au milieu de géants et vous devez trouver votre chemin dans le noir. C’est un jeu style puzzle comme il faut tenter de trouver la solution pour savoir comment sortir d’une pièce.

Play little nightmares on Nintendo switch.

I didn’t take any pictures of this game but if you’re looking for an Halloween themed game this is the one. It’s a really cool game even if sometimes it’s quite scary. You’re a little kid in middle of a giant’s world and you need to find your way to escape.

En ce qui nous concerne on va rester à la maison en faisant des activités en lien avec Halloween : Nous allons faire le puzzle escape game, nous lire des contes de fantômes avec le livre « the ghostly tales » qu’on s’est acheté et nous allons surement également regarder des films d’Halloween qui ne font pas peur en se régalant de bonbons.
