DIY – Flower printed pleated dress

Hello !

I’m happy to be back today to share with you a new DIY project. It’s been a while since I finished this dress but by the time I took it in picture here we are ! 🙂 I hope you’ll enjoy the pictures. Here I’m wearing it waisted with a belt, a bow in my hair and a pair of sandals. If it was not as hot in Bahrain I could of wear it with a jacket or a cardigan or if it was that cold with a pair of stocking and a coat. I think this dress could even look cool wearing it like a skirt with a sweater over it.

To realize it I got help in the pattern of the bustier by using one of the burda pattern. It was the same pattern I used last year fo ray gingham dress. You can look at it again here. Then I added some ruffles at the neckline, straps and a skirt with pleats to have this result. I let you watch this video just below if you want to know how I made it.

What do you think ?

Des bisous, xx

  1. It is great that you made the dress! It is so cool when you can rock the things you made – it feels so much different because of all of the effort and time you put into making the outfit piece. The fit looks great and the pattern is gorgeous. Have a great weekend!

  2. Hey Margot,

Congrats on this amazing result! The best part is that this will be a unique piece and that you will cherish it through the years. It is amazing when you have a piece by your own, knowing that it won’t a copy all over the place!

I see through the video that you put a lot of effort in this piece and that you even made a lot of trials. I imagine it is quite complicated when you make a piece from zero and then you have to do trial and error several times, right? But of course I imagine you’re really good at it 🙂

I love the way the fabric falls down, really natural and as you mentioned it can be paired easily with a light jacket or with another garments to give it a long life!
