Berjaya Langkawi resort

Hi guys !

Bon ce n’est pas le moment de réserver un voyage à l’étranger mais je continue quand même de partager avec vous mon séjour en Malaisie. J’espère pouvoir vous faire voyager avec mes photos et puis peut-être que cet article vous servira une fois que les vols seront de nouveaux ouverts. 

Well It’s not the good time to book a trip right now but I decided to continue to share with you my trip in Malaysia. I hope my photos could make you travel and maybe this article coule be useful for you after it’ll be allowed again to travel. 

Donc, aujourd’hui je partage avec vous le Berjaya resort que nous avions choisis pour passer nos deux nuits à Langkawi. Sans aucune hésitation, c’était notre hôtel coup de coeur sur les 5 que nous avions choisis pour nos 10 jours en Malaisie. En générale on essaie toujours de choisir des hôtels pas trop chers entre 50 et 80 dollars environ la nuit tout dépend, mais avec celui-ci on avait envie de se faire plaisir. Pour celui-ci, nous avons payé à peine 100 dollars la nuit, sans compter le petit déjeuner. Nous avions choisit une cabane dans la forêt plutôt que celle un peu plus cher avec une vue sur la mer car toute l’année on a la chance de vivre en bord de mer donc on souhaitait dormir dans un endroit différent. Chaque matin j’espérais croiser des animaux sur notre balcon mais nous n’avons pas eu cette chance. Cependant, nous avons croisé des écureuils et des singes sur le resort. Vous vous rappellerez peut-être de mon anecdote sur les singes que nous avons rencontré pendant notre session photo sur le resort ( Photos à retrouver ici ) sinon je vous le repartage car c’était trop drôle. Un singe a fait pipi juste à côté de nous quand nous prenions la pause pour les photos. On était mort de rire et les singes ont ensuite rigolé à leur tour comme si cette situation les faisait aussi marrer ou alors ils se moquaient de nous…  Sur ce resort, Nous avons pris qu’un seul petit déjeuner durant notre séjour en payant 18 ou 20 dollars supplémentaire par personne mais ça valait vraiment le coup. Le petit déjeuner était incroyable. On s’est régalés !

 So today I’m sharing with you the resort we picked to stay 2 nights in Langkawi. Without a doubt it was our favorite hotel on the 5 we picked for our stay in Malaysia. We always try to find something not too cheap but not too expensive neither. Usually we picked something from 50 to 80 dollars a night but we really wanted to pick one hotel which would be a little bit better than the others and it was this one : The Berjaya Langkawi resort. The night cost us less than 100 dollars without the breakfast. We picked a cabin in the rainforest rather than a cabine more expensive facing the sea because we have the chance to live by the sea all year long in Bahrain so we wanted to try something different. Every morning I was hoping to meet animals in my balcony but we had no luck. However I saw monkeys and squirrels around the resorts. You may remember my story about the monkeys when we took our photoshoot in the resort ( You can look again for the pictures  here ) if not I’ll share again with you this story because it was hilarious : A monkey peed just near us when we’re posing for the pictures so we started to laugh and the monkeys hear us. Then, they started to laugh just like us. I didn’t know if it was to joke at us or because they thought the situation was just as funny as we thought but really it was hilarious to heard the monkeys laugh just after us. On this resort, we only took one breakfast. We paid 18 or 20 dollars per person for the breakfast and it was really worth it. The food was amazing !

Le seul inconvénient dont je me souviens ce sont les petites bêtes que nous avons pu rencontrer sur le sol de notre cabine. Si les insectes vous font peut c’est à éviter, mais j’ai entendu dire que beaucoup d’hôtels à Langkawi avaient le même souci. En ce qui nous concerne ça ne nous a pas gêné du tout. tant que les bêtes étaient seulement sur le sol près de la porte et non dans notre lit.

The only inconvenient I remember about this cabin was little bugs we met one night on the floor. Avoid theses kinds of cabin if you’re afraid of bugs but I heard this is frequent in any hotels in Langkawi. It didn’t bother us that much because the bugs were only on the floor by the door. As long as it was not in my bed or my clothes It was fine ! 

Concernant les services de ce resort, il y’avait une superbe piscine avec une plage juste derrière. On a seulement pu profité de la piscine le dernier matin avant de prendre notre vol pour une autre destination car le premier soir, je me suis dirigée vers le service d’excursions avec l’idée de faire un tour en bâteau autour des mangroves de Langkawi. Et, J’ai trouvé exactement ce que je recherchais mais je vous reparlerais de cette excursion dans un prochain article. Donc notre seul regret c’est peut-être de n’être pas rester longtemps sur ce resort pour mieux profiter de la piscine et de la plage mais au moins nous avons pu voir et faire beaucoup d’autres choses en Malaisie. Par contre je ne suis pas sûre que je me serais baignée dans la mer car je vous avouerais que ça me faisait un peu peur de savoir que sur certains plages de Malaisie il y’a des méduses venimeuses. Il est pas rare de croiser sur les plages, des panneaux d’information pour vous indiquer quoi faire en cas de piqûre de méduses. Je trouve ça un peu flippant surtout que ces méduses peuvent être foudroyantes. Mais je vous rassure un peu quand même, dans ce genre de resort, les espaces de baignade sont entourés de filets. Autre que l’excursion et le photoshoot, nous avons également profité d’un autre service sur ce resort :  un diner romantique sur la plage. Pour seulement 40 dollars nous avions réservé un barbecue sur la plage. C’était vraiment très copieux. Si vous restez dans ce complex, ça vaut vraiment le coup. Comme à la maison c’est hubby qui s’est chargé du barbecue et c’était vraiment très bon. Nous avons également eu droit a une bouteille de vin et pleins de desserts. C’était un super moment.  Autre point positif, cet hôtel se situe juste à côté du village oriental de Langkawi et des cabines téléphériques. Donc nous avons pu nous y rendre très facilement. L’allée par une navette que nous proposait l’hôtel et le retour à pieds en quelques minutes. Il y’a également un service de navette pour vous conduire de votre cabine à l’accueil et inversement.

En bref’ si vous séjournez à Langkawi je vous recommande vivement ce resort.

Now let’s talk about the services in this resort. In the Berjaya resort, you can find a pool and a private beach just behind the pool. We only had time to enjoy the pool the last morning in the resort before to catch a flight for an other destination in Langkawi because for our only full day on this island I found a great excursion to do. Before to get to Langkawi I already knew I wanted to do a boat trip around the mangroves and I found the kind of excursion I was looking for in tourist informations of our hotel. I’ll share with you all the info about this excursion in a next travel article. So maybe my only regret is to not have enjoy enough time in the pool or at the beach but at least we’re able to see a lot in Malaysia. I’m not sure tho I would of enjoy the water at the beach as they have venomous jellyfish all around Malaysia. I think it’s a little bit scary as It can be really deadly. But don’t panic too much because in theses kind of resorts they have a net system to avoid the accidents. We also enjoyed an other service in this resort with a romantic dinner at the beach. For only 40 dollars we had an amazing barbecue on the beach. Hubby was the chief and perfectly grilled everything. It was amazing ! They gave us so much. For this price we even had desserts and a bottle of wine. The other good thing about this place is its location. Its located just near the village oriental and the sky cab so it’s really convenient to get there . We had a shuttle to get there and we walked in our way back. There is also an other shuttle service to get you from your cabin to the lobby and from the lobby to your cabin. It’s so convenient !

Really if you planned to stay in Langkawi and want a resort, this one is amazing !

  3. Such a beautiful place and pictures especially this time when we all have to stay home… I am imagining how fun it would be staying in a cabin in rainforest, we might mind bugs just because of young kids we travel with… it must be a great experience though…thanks for sharing hon…❤️

  27. Hey Margot! How you doing? Hope you’re staying safe and happy even in these difficult times.

    I know! It is not a good time to book a trip, but at least the desire to plan the next escapade is there and it can cheer our mood right? There will be more time to travel and discover new places. Actually I had to cancel my trip to France these days 🙁

    But well I loved to see your trip diaries to this resort, I’ve never been to a lot of resorts, just a few times in Mexican west coast in Oaxaca and the experience to unplug from the real life is something I want to repeat. Aaaaah it looks so relaxing and I wouldn’t mind to go there after all this madness 🙂
