DIY – A crop top for Valentine’s Day.

Hi guys !

Il y’a quelques jours j’ai réalisé un petit haut avec des restes de tissu que j’avais utilisé pour me faire une robe pour la Saint Valentin il y’a environ 2 ans. Ce tissu est tout mignon et parfait pour la Saint Valentin avec ces petits motifs coeurs. J’étais soulagée d’avoir assez de tissus pour me faire une nouvelle pièce à ajouter dans mon dressing. Et surtout je suis plutôt contente du résultat car j’ai réalisé ce crop top très rapidement en seulement une après midi et sans patron. J’ai définit moi-même le patron en procédant à un moulage sur mon mannequin et ensuite je l’ai adapté à ma taille en nouant le noeud à ma poitrine mais si ça vous intéresse, je vous laisse regarder tout le processus de création en vidéo. On a eu beaucoup de vent quand on a pris ces photos mais j’espère qu’elles vont plairont quand même. Cependant ne vous en faites pas, je n’ai pas eu froid. Rien que samedi dernier il faisait presque 30 degrés à l’extérieur. Ce crop top peut paraitre un peu trop sexy alors je le porte avec un pantalon taille haute, un blazer et une paire de basket pour ne pas être vulgaire. Je vous avouerais que je ne le porterais pas dans la rue en Moyen Orient du moins pas sans quelque chose par dessus mais dans plusieurs semaines, je vais être vraiment heureuse de le retrouver dans mon dressing pour le porter à la maison quand il va commencer à faire très chaud, en attendant je le porte en dessous une veste comme sur ces photos. Je trouve aussi que ce top a un petit côté vintage californien , vous ne trouvez pas ?

Few days ago I made a new crop with the leftover of a cute fabric I used around 2 years ago to make myself a dress fo Valentine’s day. This fabric is really cute with little hearts printed on it. I think it’s a great fabric for Valentine’s day. Don’t you agree ? I was relieved to have enough fabrics to make me a new top to add in my closet and I’m pretty happy how it turned out. I realized this pattern myself by modeling the top to the dress form and then I tied the knot to my bust so it’ll fit me but you can look for all the making process on the video just below.  It was really windy when we took theses pictures but I hope you’ll stil enjoy those. Don’t be worry tho I was not cold at all. In winter we are lucky to have a really good weather in Bahrain but this summer I won’t think we will be that lucky when it’ll be too hot to go outside. This crop top can look a little bit too sexy that’s why I wear it with high waisted pants, a blazer and a pair of sneakers to not look too sexy. To be honest I won’t be wearing this top in the streets in Middle East but I’ll be really happy to have it in my closet to wear it inside my house when in several weeks it’s gonna get too hot to enjoy the weather outside. But for now I’m wearing it under a jacket just like I did here on theses pictures. Oh and I also think this top has a vintage Californian vibe. Don’t you think ?

  5. Hey Margot, how are you?! Hope you’re having a nice February so far! Are you ready for Valentines day? 🙂

    It is so nice to see that there are still fashion bloggers that put their hands down to work when it comes to put creativity into clothes, I feel that we do not need to buy everything we wear in order to put a little of creativity and uniqueness into our outfits.

    I love the result, is so simple (talking in a good way) and resolutive, and I also think you can use it during the summer or in a port city…. And yes, it totally gave me the Californian retro vibes! I loved how you paired it with sneakers to give a more casual vibe!

    1. Yes exactly. I’m currently trying to reduce my shopping time and instead restyle what I own and create a lot more.
      It’s a lot more fulfilling to create something new than just buying it.
