Langkawi – Day 3 in Malaysia

Aujourd’hui, un nouvel article voyage sur notre séjour en Malaisie. Cette fois-ci je vous emmène à Langkawi. Après deux nuits passées à Kuala Lumpur, nous avons pris l’avion dans la matinée pour se diriger vers l’île de Langkawi. ( Je vous invite à lire ou relire mon article ici sur notre itinéraire si vous voulez en apprendre plus sur quels moyens de transports nous avons utilisé en Malaisie. )  Langkawi se situe tout près de la frontière entre la Malaisie et la Thaïlande et si vous voyagiez en Malaisie je pense que c’est une étape essentielle à votre voyage tant nous avons adoré Langkawi. Je vous recommande au moins trois jours car 2 jours nous ont paru court pour bien profiter de cette île mais sans regrets car il y’avait d’autres choses à voir en Malaisie. Nous avons séjourné au resort Berjaya et c’est notre hôtel coup de coeur sur les cinq que nous avons fait en Malaisie mais je vous en reparlerais bientôt dans un prochain article. Le plus c’est que cet hôtel était localisé tout près d’un des sites touristiques de Langkawi : le téléphérique et le sky bridge. C’est d’ailleurs la première visite que l’on a fait à Langkawi. Nous sommes arrivés en début d’après-midi dans notre et hôtel et une fois les valises déposés dans notre chalet, nous nous sommes dirigés vers le téléphérique dans une navette que notre hôtel proposait.

Today I’m sharing with you a new travel article about our trip in Malaysia. This time I’m taking you in Langkawi. After 2 nights spent in Kuala Lumpur we caught a flight to Langkawi. (You can read or read again my article here  about our itinerary in Malaysia and to know which transports we used there.) Langkawi is an island located near the boarder between Malaysia and Thailand and I think it’s a must to do if you’re staying for a week or more in Malaysia. We really enjoyed Langkawi ! I recommend you to stay at least 3 days in this island. We only stayed 2 days and I think it was too short to enjoy the island but we wanted to visit others cities in Malaysia. We stayed at the resort Berjaya and it was our favorite place on the 5 other hotels we did in Malaysia. I’ll talk to you more about this place in a next article. It was located just near one of the touristic sites of Langkawi : the sky cab and the sky bridge so just after dropping us our suitcases to our chalet we went to the sky cab with a shuttle from our hotel. 

Le lieu où se situe le téléphérique est très touristique. Ils ont construit tout un village avec des bâtiments colorés : le “oriental village”. C’est très photogénique. On a adoré. On s’est arrêtés mangé dans un des restaurants pour manger un plat typique malaysien avant de continuer notre visite. J’avais lu des avis sur ce lieu comme quoi parfois il y’avait beaucoup de monde pour acheter ses billets pour le téléphérique, mais ce n’était pas notre cas. Il n’y’avait vraiment pas beaucoup de monde. Nous avons pris le premier prix de billets à 85 RM soit environ 19 euros et ce billet nous donnait également accès à deux autres activités dans le village oriental. Il y’a également d’autres tickets avec des accès à d’autres activités et il est possible de prendre un oeuf privés ou/et avec un sol transparent en payant un extra.

The place where is located the skycap is really touristic. They build an “oriental village” with a lot of colorful building. It’s really pretty and a perfect place to take pictures. We loved it. We stopped to eat in one of the restaurants they had here to have a traditional Malaysian dish before to continue our visit. Before to visit this place I read a lot of comments saying sometimes there is a big line to buy the tickets for the sky cab but for us it was not that busy. We took the cheapest tickets at 85 RM which is around 20 dollars and this ticket gave us access to two other activities in the oriental village. There was also others combos of tickets with other activities to do or tickets to take a VIP gondola or a see through gondola. 

Vu d’en bas du téléphérique est vraiment impressionnant donc je ne pense pas qu’on aurait eu l’idée de prendre un oeuf avec un sol transparent mais enfaite une fois à l’intérieur des gondoles on a pas l’impression d’être aussi en pente. Il y’a deux arrêts le premier avec un premier point de vue et le deuxième plus haut pour prendre le sky bridge. On a du reprendre des tickets pour avoir accès au sky bridge à 6 RM soit environ 1 euro et nous avons choisit de marcher plutôt que de prendre un petit funiculaire pour descendre sur le pont. On espérait croiser des animaux en marchant mais cette fois-ci nous n’avons rien vu. En tout cas les points de vue sont magnifiques. C’est vraiment impressionnant d’être aussi haut sur un pont perché conne celui-ci et la jungle est tellement belle. J’imaginais tous les animaux qui devaient se trouver en dessous de nous.

When we are outside the sky cab it looks so impressive so I don’t think we would of have the idea to take a see-through gondola but when you’ll inside the gondola it’s actually not scary at all. There is 2 stops. The first one to see a first point of view and the second one upper to see the sky bride. We took other tickets to go on the sky bridge. I think the price was 6 RM, it’s around 1 dollar. And we decided to walk to go get down instead of buying an extra to take a cable car. We’re hoping to see monkeys or any other animals by walking but  this time we had no luck. The view is really stunning from the bridge. It was crazy to be that high and see the amazing jungle all around us. I couldn’t stop to think about all the animals under us. 

En redescendant dans le village oriental, nous sommes passés par un parc à lapins. C’était si mignon ! Ensuite, nous avons été au 3d art qui était compris dans notre billet d’entrée du téléphérique. Si ce n’était pas compris dans notre billet nous n’y serions pas allé car nous avons déjà fait un musée trompe oeil en Corée du sud. ( Vous pouvez retrouver nos photos sur le blog dans la sous-catégorie South Korea de la catégorie travel de mon menu. ). Mais on s’est vite repris au jeu en se prenant en photos dans les tableaux. On a beaucoup rigolé et ça nous a rappelé de bons souvenirs de Corée car certains tableaux étaient les même que ceux qu’on avait en Corée comme la photo avec le panda. Ensuite, nous avons fait la seconde activité comprise dans notre billet : un cinéma 3D où on se retrouve dans une sorte de Jurassic park. C’était sympa mais enfaite on avait déjà faite cette même attraction aux Etats Unis. Haha. En sortant du village oriental nous sommes tombés nez à nez avec un gros lézard puis des loutres dans l’étang.  Alors j’ai vite sortis mon gros zoom pour capturer l’instant. C’était magique !

Getting down to the oriental village we went into a small park full of rabbits. This place was so cute ! Then we went to the 3d art museum which was included in our ticket for the skycab. If it was not included I don’t think we would of visit this place as we already went to a similar place in South Korea. But even if we already went to a similar place before and some painting were the same we still had a lot of fun taking pictures in the trick arts. We had a lot fun. Then we went to the second activity included in the ticket. It was a 3D ride in a sort of Jurassic park. It was fun but we already did this ride before back in US in a Dave and Busters. When we were about to leave the oriental village we saw a big lizard and few otters swimming in the water. It was such a precious moment ! I was so happy to be fast enough to take them in pictures with my big sense. 

Plus tard dans la soirée, nous sommes partis en grab au marché de nuit pour tester le “street food”. Hubby était trop content de trouver un stand qui vendant sa “papaya salad”. Moi j’ai adoré tester leur desserts. #team sucré.

J’espère ne pas vous avoir trop innondé de photos mais c’était difficile de faire un choix. J’aime essayer de vous retranscrire la magie de chaque lieu que je visite. J’espère vous avoir fait voyager. Nous avons aussi filmé quelques moments de cette journée donc j’essaierais de les partager avec vous dans une vidéo avec d’autres images de mon article précédent sur la Malaisie si les images me conviennent car on est pas encore très doués pour filmer. 

Later in the evening, we left using the application grab to the night market to try the Malaysian street food. Hubby was so happy to find one of his favorite meal : the papaya salad. Me I really enjoyed testing few desserts. #team sweet. 

I hope I didn’t share too many pictures but it was really hard to make a choice. I always try to transcribe to you the magic of each place I visit. And I hope it works and I made you travel with me in Malaysia in this article. We also record some videos during this day so I’ll try to share some of the clips with you in a video with others clips we took from our second day in Malaysia but we’ll see if I’m pleased with the videos because we are not so good at taking videos yet.
