Hi guys !
I’m happy to share with you a new DIY look with a top I created weeks ago (just before Xmas ). It’s been a while since I wanted a puff sleeved top so I decided to make me one. I wanted a simple base of top with a pretty boat neckline in a white cotton fabric with puff sleeves in transparent white and black dots organza fabric. I didn’t find the kind of fabrics I was looking for in my fabrics shop so instead I took a lace fabric for the sleeves. Organza would of make my sleeves look a lot more like puff sleeves but I’m still satisfy with the result even if it was not the easiest part.
I’m pretty happy with the all result of this top even if it’s not 100% perfect. To realize this top I used a pattern from a Burda magazine. Like you may know if you’re not new on my DIY articles on my blog I use quite often burda patterns to create some of my clothes. Here this pattern was a simple tee-shirt with sleeves and I alternated it to have the top I had in mind. The pattern of this top was meant for a pretty large top and was not meant for a boat neckline. That’s why I think I had some difficulties making this top. It was really too large so I had to add a sewing at the middle front and an other one at the middle back. I wish I didn’t because my middle front sewing is not perfect. I didn’t sew it perfectly at the middle front but It still works. I’ll do it better next time because I ‘m pretty sure I’ll use again the pattern of this top to create a new puff sleeved top in a different fabric. I’m really into puff sleeves lately !
I’m letting you watch the video if you’re interested to see how I made this top. I hope you enjoy watching theses kinds of videos and I hope you like this new top and look. To match this top I wore a H&M high waisted green pants with some pearls accessories. And I already can’t wait to share with you a new sewing project. Right now I’m working on a tailoring jacket in a blue and green cheek fabric and I hope it’ll turn out like I wish ! Fingers crossed !
Des bisous, xx
Margot

Oh this is so nice. Thanks you !
Oh I think this came out great! You have mad skills I would not be able to do this lol. I went shopping yesterday for FW and was looking for puffed or statement sleeve tops or dresses. I found a fun yellow dress with one shoulder big ruffle. It is too body con and looks tacky though it is fairly long so I am going to either wear a short peplum style mini skirt over it, or I am going to cut it and use it as a top.

Haha
